Emam Ali
Imam Ali observatory and astronomical research center was founded in 1997 by Ayatollah Sistani, the Shia Great Scholar’. Different kinds of activities are held in this center such as meteor shower and eclipse observations, educational and research workshops and so on. On important celestial events special astronomical events are held and specialist as well as the public would gather together to observe the events.
Gonbad Mina
Tehran’s Gonbad-e-Mina Planetarium wows audiences.
The planetarium is located in Abbas-Abad Hills area of Tehran and is designed to show the night sky in all its glory – even during the day. Users can see celestial bodies, view a 3D show of the stars and educate all about our solar system.
The dome was developed and built by the local municipality located just beyond the Water and Fire Park and acts to enhance the large green area with its unique attractions.
The planetarium has helped people understand where we sit in the galaxy.
